Foundation Brewing, located on the iconic Industrial Way in Portland, has been serving a full spectrum of craft beers since 2014. Foundation is known for Epiphany, our flagship New England Double IPA, and also our wide selection of lagers, sour fruit beers, and traditional favorites like Burnside Brown. We opened our Detroit-style Pizza Kitchen in 2022 with the goal for owners, Tina & John Bonney, to bring the pizza of their childhood to our Maine fans.
Detroit-style Pizza, known for its square shape and delicious fried cheese edges, has become increasingly popular over the last few years, and we are delighted to bring the pizza we grew up eating as kids to our home here in Portland. Our pizzas start with homemade dough that takes three days to prepare. Baked in square metal pans, our pies not only develop the iconic cheese edges, but also deliver a crispy, light body. Topped with a dollop of our house made sauce, this is the closest thing you are going to find to the good stuff outside the Motor City.
For Maine Restaurant Week, we are highlighting our specialty pizzas. Our Magic Mushroom, Hot Buzz and Supreme are fan favorites. And every month, we rotate in a brand new pizza so our regulars have something new and exciting to try. March’s special is a Sweet Pea & Ricotta pizza to welcome in Spring.
