About Maine Restaurant Week

Maine Restaurant Week began in 2009 to solve a challenge many of our local restaurants faced: surviving winter. Before MRW, owners often cut staff and reduced hours, hoping summer business would make up for the slow season.
We created MRW to give restaurants a winter boost and to celebrate Maine’s incredible chefs and dining culture. From day one, the response has been enthusiastic—drawing diners from near and far and strengthening our culinary community.
MRW also gives back. Proceeds from sponsorships and events support Preble Street, helping neighbors in need.

All these years later, our mission is the same: keep winter vibrant, support restaurants, and bring people together over great food.
